Skywave is made by Braviata (a one-person studio). This policy is written in plain language because that's how we'd want to read one.
· Location while you play. Skywave is a location game — your
position is what tunes the radio. Recent positions are kept
server-side to run the game (signal strength, energy from walking,
and basic anti-cheat). Location is not collected when the app isn't
running.
· A device identifier. A random ID generated on your phone
identifies your player. It is not your advertising ID and is not
linked to your identity.
· An email address, only if you create an account. Accounts
are optional (they exist so you can move your player to a new
phone). We use the address to sign you in — nothing else. No
newsletters unless you ask for one.
· Things you write in the game — cache names and the short
notes left inside drops, visible to players who find them.
· We don't sell or share your data with anyone. There are no
third-party analytics, no ad networks, and no trackers in the app.
· We don't collect contacts, photos, or anything from the
microphone or camera roll. (The camera is used live, on-device,
for the optional bearing visor — nothing is recorded.)
Game data is stored on our own server in the EU (Hetzner, Germany), reachable only over HTTPS. Nightly backups are kept for 14 days.
In the app: the gear icon → DELETE ACCOUNT removes your player, your drops, and your position history. Or email support@playskywave.com and we'll do it by hand.
Skywave isn't directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their data. Younger players should hunt with a parent — it's more fun as a team anyway.
If this policy changes in a way that matters, we'll note it here with a new effective date.
